Clean Cole Street is a project initiated by CVIA where much of the commercial area of Cole Valley is swept every day by CleanScapes.  The project is made possible by contributions from Cole Street merchants, an annual grant from the Cole Valley Fair, proceeds from CVIA's Santa on Cole fundraiser, and CVIA's member donations. 

The results of the project are noticeable right after the sweep and the rest of the day.  It appears people have a greater respect for our sidewalks when they start out clean.

The service CleanScapes provides includes:
~ litter removal
~ pressure washing
~ cleaning news racks
~ weeding public tree wells

Professional photographer Loic Nicolas supports this project by donating his time to take pictures of kids (and dogs, and grown-ups) for our annual "Santa on Cole" fundraiser.  In 2011 Santa on Cole raised over $900 for Clean Cole Street. We are also grateful to an anonymous CVIA member donor who, every year, helps to make up the difference in the funds we raise and the actual cost of the program.
